The festival posters that are specifically created for these awesome events try to capture the unique feeling of each festival. Using illustrations, graphics and colours the posters perfectly represent the atmosphere you’re going to experience when you are finally there.

So while you are waiting with your ticket in hand for festival season to roll around, a great poster will give you an opportunity to dream about the fun that awaits. Here we collected this year’s most creative and beautiful poster designs for festivals across the UK.

Wildlife Festival

On June 9th and 10th Brighton was buzzing with the crowds of the Wildlife Festival. Over 25,000 people visited the festival this year and enjoyed great music and good vibes. The electronic and hip hop festival featured top acts like Dizzee Rascal, Fatboy Slim und Jess Glynne.

Just like the festival itself, the poster creates the feeling of a fun and crazy time. It draws you in with psychedelic shapes, fantastic creatures and vibrant colours that almost seem to glow on the dark background. It is full of incredible detail, with so much going on, one doesn’t know where to look first.

Greenman Festival

Since 2003 the independent music and arts festival Greenman invites you to have a good time and dance along to alternative, indie, rock, and folk music. In mid-August the festival takes place in the Brecon Beacons in Wales, surrounded by miles of mountains, forests, waterfalls and rivers.

Because 2017 marks the year of the festival’s 15 year anniversary, they celebrated the occasion with a particularly cool poster design. The poster surprises with a colourful cartoonish, hand-drawn style. The artwork for the poster and the website was created by Dutch illustrator Aart-Jan Venema, who’s layered and brilliantly coloured jungle, is the perfect illustrational representation of the festival. Just like the festival, his creative design is full of little stories and discoveries for the viewer.

Moovin Festival

Just 30 minutes outside Manchester in Compstall the Moovin Festival invites music lovers to discover the freshest acts and performers during the August Bank Holiday weekend. The independent festival with its counter cultural feel takes place in the countryside on the eco-friendly Whitebotham farm.

The laid back vibe of the festival offers an eclectic mix of established and new artists. It may be a small festival, but Moovin has a great appreciation for music of genres like reggae, house, dub, hip hop, jungle, folk, drumming, urban and electronic. The festival is all about harmony with nature and creative artistic experimentation. And you can really feel the natural, harmonic hippie atmosphere in the festival poster, which features fun 70s fonts and artistic organic shapes, plants and animals that really seem to be “moovin”.

Electric Fields

One hour south of Glasgow and Edinburgh, in the beautiful forests of Dumfries & Galloway, the Electric Fields Festival invites you on September 1st and 2nd to experience a diverse lineup. The festival area holds only up to 5,000 people, so this is a small but intimate festival.

On its four stages on the stunning grounds of Drumlanrig Castle the festival focuses on fresh, exciting and relevant music. And this year’s poster for the Electric Fields festival reflects just that with modern line art and shades of purple and green. The detailed and creative shapes of musical instruments, nature and camping gear summarize beautifully what Electric Fields is all about.

Victorious Festival

From August 25th to 27th the famous Victorious Festival is held on The Common and Castle Field in the beautiful seaside location of Southsea in Portsmouth. This festival has big names in its lineup for 2017, such as Maximo Park, Franz Ferdinand, Rita Ora and the Stereophonics.

With lots of different live music stages, a kids area, bars and markets as well as free entry to seafront attractions like Southsea Castle and Southsea Skate Park, this festival has something to offer for anyone. Illustrating the wonderful seaside location, the festival poster uses a blue and white nautical theme with yellow accents, showing the Southsea location, waves, clouds and the sun in cool and modern line art.

The Great Escape

The perfect festival to discover the freshest musical talents is the Great Escape in Brighton. In mid-May the festival showcased 450 emerging artists from all over the world in more than 30 stages across the city. The fact that the performances are spread through venues in Brighton means that you can enjoy the musical acts in very intimate settings. Since the festival features music across all genres, the poster art represents this diversity with a geometric design of rays using all the colours of the rainbow.

Alongside the performances, the Great Escape is also big event in the music industry: they run a convention with panels, debates, keynote speeches and networking opportunities for artists and labels on the lookout for talented musicians.

Tartan Heart Festival

This year’s Tartan Heart Festival takes place August 3rd to 5th at the Belladrum Estate in Beauly, near Inverness in Scotland. The festival has a wide-ranging, esoteric musical scope from Celtic and mainstream rock to indie, roots, jazz dance and classical. It’s atmosphere is very family-friendly, they even have a kid’s area with puppet workshops, arts and crafts as well as dance and music classes. They also cover all the other arts: Besides music, they offer theatre, installation art, literature, poetry and performance art.

This year’s festival theme is ‘Summer of Love’, so it’s no surprise to see a bright and colourful poster design on a yellow background with lots of hippie symbols and 70s typography. If you want to fit right in, the festival even has its own Belladrum tartan collection, a distinctive green and red tartan that has now been officially registered.

Citadel Festival

The Citadel Festival on Sunday, 16th July in Victoria Park in London, is a one day only festival promising music, fun, food and art. They have an exciting line-up with headliners such as Bonobo, Foals and Wild Beasts. This is the perfect opportunity for anyone wanting to escape the city atmosphere without actually having to leave.

Citadel Festival aims to turn Victoria Park into “a sun-drenched utopia” for a day. And the dreamlike, ethereal poster design matches this laid-back summery vibe perfectly, using a pink and purple sunset, stars and two moons as a background to a path leading through a beautiful, utopian landscape with tropical vegetation, mountains and a city skyline.

Daymark Festival

The Daymark Festival is quite special among all the other festivals out there. It’s located on the tiny, but very beautiful island of St Martins, 28 miles off the coast of Cornwall on the Isles of Scilly, which only has a population of about 140 people. In mid-April the island becomes the place to be for good music and good food.

Just as different as the festival and it’s location is the festival poster that goes along with it. Featuring a comic style space illustration of a rocket and dancing aliens playing instruments, it perfectly encapsulates the journey on which this festival takes you. Here you can discover new music, people and a part of Britain, you may not have visited before.

Bestival

Although Bestival used to be located on the Isle of Wight, this year it is coming to Dorset. Curated and organized by DJ and record producer Rob da Bank and his wife Josie, Bestival takes place from September 7th to 10th at the Lulworth Estate—an enchanting country estate on the coast of Dorset, between Bournemouth, Dorchester and Weymouth.

Bestival is very well known for its attendees dressing up in the most colourful and creative ways and its poster design is just as colourful. Poster and website are covered in Josie da Bank’s hand-drawn artwork with brightly coloured sections and lots of little drawings, which perfectly fits the style and feel of the festival’s eclectic mix of genres.

Camp Bestival

via Camp Bestival

Camp Bestival is Bestival’s familiy-friendly sister festival. Launched in 2008, this year’s Camp Bestival is taking place from July 27th to 30th in the same beautiful Dorset location as Bestival. From folk and dub to drumstep and jazz jungle, there is bound to be the right music genre there for everyone.
