The Backyard Homestead Handbook: A HOW-TO GUIDE TO CREATING A SUSTAINABLE, SELF-SUFFICIENT LIFE THROUGH HOMESTEADING AND URBAN FARMING IN THE MODERN DAY
Prepper, urban planner, and long-time homesteader, Seb Larsen developed a close relationship with cultivating and stockpiling food while growing up on his parents' farm in Montana. After serving in the military, Seb wanted to use his integrated knowledge of survival and disaster preparation to help global communities by creating communal gardens and educating on emergency preparation. Now, a published author, Seb shares his knowledge with the world, and hopes to help individuals develop the knowledge necessary to prepare themselves for potential disaster situations.
This is an entry level how-to book on backyard homesteading and urban farming. Written to be fun, useful, and easy to understand.
Homeowners who are looking to learn how to urban farm, and practice self sufficient homesteading on their own property.
NOTE: The Dimensions of the print cover I'm asking to be 5.5 x 8.5 inches, but for whichever designer/design wins the contest, I will also request a 2400 x 2400 pxl version for an Audiobook cover, for which the price can be negotiated on. DISCLAIMER: If you have a powerful vision for this cover that you think would look cool but differs from the brief, you made disregard the following. Otherwise: Looking for a cover that takes thematic inspiration from the cover for "Bushcraft 101: A Field Guide to the Art of Wilderness Survival" (found here): https://www.amazon.com/Bushcraft-101-Field-Wilderness-Survival-ebook/dp/B00MIMHPII/ref=sr_1_2?dchild=1&keywords=Bushcraft+101&qid=1627865562&sr=8-2 As noted above, want the title/subtitle centered in bold on cover, with subtitle in smaller font beneath it. Then, like "Bushcraft 101", want illustrated icons, of gardening/farming related items in similar aesthetic, arranged on the page above, below/surrounding the title. Of these illustrated icons on the cover, items could include: -Wheelbarrow -Watering Bucket -Shovel -Radishes, Broccoli, Carrots (variety of vetetables) -Chicken -Chicken Coop -Gardening Gloves -The Sun -Rain/Clouds -Raised Garden Beds Envisioning all icons being of the same color or shade, and of similar line weight. Would like the title/subtitle text to have lined border/frame, he same color or shade as the text. Like the Bushcraft 101 cover, overall slightly masculine, grittier tone with bold color blocking, using any combination of darker greens, whites, reds, and blacks. If you feel like you have a color palette that would work better, feel free to use. Proportion of size of icons to one another and title is up to you (all the same size or icons of different size) as long as illustration style and line weight uniformity is essentially the same across all icons. ADDITIONAL NOTE: Lastly, if you a designer with an ALTERNATIVE vision, your cover may include stock photos for the cover.
