Medical & Pharmaceutical
KSS is a medical publishing company. Our main title is the Medical Management of HIV Infection (www.mmhiv.com) and now we are publishing a book about Virtual Patient Simulation, VPS.
What's your vision?
We are publishing a new book on Virtual Patient Simulation (VPS). This is an online technology that simulates patients as a training experience for doctors and other healthcare professionals. Think of a flight simulator but for doctors. The industry utilizes gaming technology, multi-media, videos, artificial intelligence, 3D virtual hospitals, branching videos and other techniques to animate online virtual patients to teach doctors how to treat chronic and infectious diseases more accurately with less error and injury. The imagery should be modern and have a medical feel. The human body in some kind of digitized concept might be effective. Perhaps a Vitruvian Man motif. The authors are David D. Hadden and Sarah Kate Fishback. Cover Text: Title: Virtual Patient Simulation By line: Web, Gaming, A.I. and Virtual Worlds Technology in Medical Training A guide to the currently available VPS technologies and products and the founders and innovators that created them. The back: This is a gude to Virtual Patient Simulation technologies and products. It covers the companies and technologies that are making well supported, easily accessible systems available to medical universities, healthcare providers, pharmaceutical companies, government organizations, individuals and others that are interested in utilizing the latest and greatest virtual training technology for healthcare professions. This book covers the companies, software, content, scenarios, validating research, and history of the products and innovators that constitute the VPS sector. The book contains a synopsis of 50 hours of interviews with experts. This is in tended as a guide to any organization that would like to utilize VPS in their training be those trainees students or professionals and in a variety of healthcare professions such a doctors, nurses, paramedics, pharmacists, physical therapists, physiologists, vets, or for the patients themselves. The technology revolution that gave us the Internet and multi-media has been slow to come to the medical field but dozens of companies and projects are finally making their presence known and the results are compelling. The Authors: David D. Hadden (BIO - later) Sarah Kate Fishback (BIO- later) Published by Knowledge Source Solutions
