Art & Design
We publish books, preferably art themed coffee-table style books with catchy visuals.
What's your vision?
The cover is for a book entitled "Subway Haiku", it's a haiku poetry book that deals with the NYC subway as a theme. It's a lighthearted book, some haikus are comical, some are thoughtful. A big reference for what type of book it is is "Haikus For Jews" in terms of using a non-traditional subject as a form of haiku, the Japanese form of poetry. For the cover: The dimensions should be 9" in height, 6" in width. I wanted a somewhat clean background of textured, slighty-aged paper, the way you would see a japanese brush artwork (Sumi-e). The title "SUBWAY HAIKU" in bold, brush lettering, with an Asian japanese feel. Lettering cannot be a font, but rather a hand drawn brushed feel. Below the title is a brushed line sketch of a NYC subway car, done in the same brushed texture as the title. The subway car's perspective should be facing the viewer head on, with a curve to show the sides in the distance. I am including photo references and sketches for more clarity and detail. Feel free to add a splash of color somewhere in the layout, a small splash of red. The art should look bold, eye-catching, and authentic. Please feel free to ask any questions you have about the design. On the back cover: -The textured, aged paper background should wrap around to the back of the cover, and there should be the brushed symbol for the Japanese word for "HAIKU" (see the picture references to see what it looks like)
I really want this to be an attention grabbing design. Have fun, and make it amazing.
