What's your vision?
The book in production is "Little Red Hen" by Nolan Finley. Finley is the op-ed page editor for the Detroit News and the book is a collection of selected columns he wrote of the past 15 years. The title of the book comes from a column about the life lessons learned from classic children's books like "Little Red Hen" and "The Little Engine the Could." Columns cover local/regional/national/international issues as well as human interest pieces. The audience is primarily Detroit area/Michigan readers. We are looking for a striking cover that intrigues potential readers.
Physical books will be produced via Amazon CreateSpace, so it must conform to their guidelines. 6x9 softcover format. Approximately 280 pages. Ebooks for mobi and pub formats. Author head shot, ISBN Bar Code and jacket copy will be provided. Plan for 2 jacket blurbs, and a brief about the author text to accompany the photo. Our loo for the spine is a simple DG in Gentium Basic (see www.dunlap-goddard.com) with the name spelled out and stacked in arial narrow below. We have no preconceived notions regarding the cover so please amaze us with a brilliant eye-catching idea.
