A fun Science fiction novel targeted at young adults/ adults, as the first book in a series.
What's your vision?
Hello everyone. What I am looking for is an EBook cover for my science fiction novel "Errant Contact. By T Michael Ford" About my book: "A survey crew of the human starship Geoffrey Laird lands on a small unexplored planet quaintly named Fleece as part of a standard mission. The planet looks benign but a small mix-up in what may be considered "hostile life-forms" has the three surviving members of the team on the run for their lives. Drik, Max, and Laree seek shelter in a small cave, completely cut off from their ship and communications. However it turns out the cave might not be a cave at all... Kodo, frozen in stasis for almost a thousand years, awakens to find everything he knew is gone. His crew is dead, his ship a wreck, and his home world a pile of ash. Only one other member of the crew survived, Kalaya, the Aurora's resident know-it -all, who was never quite right in the head. Now, on top of it all, humans are on his ship! Humans, the universe's newest addition to the space-faring races and a complete embarrassment to the galactic community, are on his ship. Could this get any worse?....yes, yes it can! Follow Kodo and Laree on their humorous mission to escape Fleece and the human military eager to capture their ship. A mission filled with danger, laughter, friends, and ....Sentient BLT sandwiches? Game shows? Space crickets?" It's a fun to read book for people to simply enjoy a good story with interesting and sometimes crazy characters. About the cover: I would like to see a cover showing the two main characters on it. Both are aliens but appear human. The first being Kodo, our male hero in the story. He is described as being a tall, powerfully built man in his early thirties with black hair and brown eyes, some stubble on his face as well. He is ex-military turned technician and is wearing a gray form-fitting jumpsuit covered in pockets and straps designed to carry various tools and gargets he needs to repair his ship. The second would be Kalaya, she is the exact opposite of his cool and collected mind. Often acting a bit crazy with the other characters in the story, she is extremely loyal to her male counterpart. She is depicted as being an attractive young woman (late twenties in age) with short blond hair and glowing blue eyes (not her entire eye, just the irises.) She is actually a advanced AI (see attached image for example) she has an attractive hourglass figure, but is shorter than Kodo. She likes to dress herself in old, long forgotten clothing as well. A white lace up slim fit tailcoat, similar to something from the 1800's, with a pair of green skin tight leggings and a set of worn brown leather knee high riding boots finishes off her normal look. The final thing I would like is the ship... well, part of the ship I mean. The Aurora is over two miles long so there is no hope of fitting all of it on the page so I would like to see at least some of it off in the background. And seeing this is a story about a crashed ship, she will still be on the ground. So to sum up I need part of an incredibly large ship half uncovered from the hillside in the background, still in one piece. The rest of the background is your standard alien world but still with greenery and grass and trees. This is and alien world so feel free to make it look like so. I would like to see Kodo and Kalaya at the bottom front of the cover looking out at the ship or off in the distance, but still able to see their faces. As coffee is the center of many of the humorous parts of the ship, I wouldn't mind a small officious looking serving robot to be standing next to them with a tray holding a coffee pitcher and some cups if it all will fit.
I would like it formatted for kindle please as a 6 by 9 print. I will give artist credit but I must have owners rights. You may use photo manipulation if you wish but i would prefer things to be original work. I have also included an example of what I think Kalaya looks like, however I have no rights to the image and this should be used for reference purposes only. I look forward to working with all of you! And thank you!
