Rocio was very receptive to our brief. Additionally, we loved all her new ideas when she took artistic liberty with respect to minor changes in the design. She was also very timely in responding to all our questions and requests for changes. We would definitely recommend her and would be happy to use her again in the future.
Perfect. Always great to work with brightspark!
Great working with Rados777. Wonderful design and prompt service whenever changes were needed to the design. Highly recommended! Thank you!
Designer listened intently to my thoughts on symbolism and came up with great ideas with beautiful elegant lines like I'd never seen before. Tribal tattoo looked like a fine painting after all was said and done. Did rework due to my own changes in what I wanted without a complaint. Outstanding artist and professional!
How claire.s.duffy started their book cover journey
CS Duffy is a Glasgow screenwriter and author who never intends her books to be funny but they somehow always come out that way. She is the author of the Glasgow Kiss series and the Stockholm Murders series as well as loads of screenplays you've never heard of. She was a Spotlight Author at Bloody Scotland in 2018 and wrote The Stranger, an original audio series for Storytel.
It's an urban paranormal, about time travelling Vikings invading modern day Glasgow - fun, fast moving with a bit of black humour and romance. Outlander meets True Blood.
Primarily woman 25+.
What colors do you want to see in your design?
The tone of the book is fun, fast moving and feminist.
The lead character is a modern woman who takes no prisoners, the male love interest a viking. They may or may not be on the cover - it's up to you. The location is Glasgow, Scotland - vikings in an urban setting. It should be bold, eye catching, a little bit unusual - maybe even a slight hint of graphic novel/noir feeling?
It should capture the balance between the fantasy with a bit of darkness and bold fun.
What to avoid
Though there is some romance, I want to avoid anything that suggests the romance genre too heavily. If you use the female character she should be fully dressed and casual/practical - jeans, workout gear. She is fit and powerful but if she is in a bikini or something I'll reject immediately.
