Frame Shift - A Voice for the Ignored Holiday Legends
AJ Watson was born and raised in the Australian gold rush town of Ballarat. He has wandered through careers as glamorous as Security Guard and IT Consultant but always maintained a healthy desire to see fantasy worlds come to life. In his writing this desire can be somewhat achieved. AJ's status as a martial arts instructor and medieval re-enactment contributor offer insight into combat that he can share with his readers for a more authentic feel. Having accidentally set himself on fire qualifies him to speak on elemental magic as well (he's better now). Aj is also a Life Coach specialising in Health and Wellbeing. This gives him insight to human nature which he utilises in breathing life into his characters. AJ Watson has an eclectic collection of skills, knowledge and ideas in just the right mix to create something like this book. I mean where else will you find a martial arts coach & champ, IT guru, hypnotist, life coach, home handyman, spray paint artist, sci-fi/fantasy/western author, gamer and all round science enthusiast in one place? https://www.amazon.com/AJ-Watson/e/B00JGE8R7Y https://www.facebook.com/aj.watson.author
BLURB: This book showcases the unsung and ignored parts of holiday photos. People take photos of bridges, buildings, lakes, landscapes and beautiful creatures as these show the best side of a city or destination. But what about the other areas that show the character of a city? The graffiti and rubbish-filled alleyways; the design details that went into a locker; the untold history of a fire hydrant or animals that are considered too common or like vermin? These may not be the glitzy areas, but their commitment to, and long-lived service for your holiday are equally important. Where would you drop your trash, take a drink or urinate without them? This photo book provides a voice for these ignored things and aims to show there is beauty in everything if you just take the time to look for it. END BLURB This book is a humorous take on holiday photos. I have done the design work myself in InDesign in a format I am happy with. I need a cover designed that matches the humour. I have used a digital tour guide of myself (cartoon-ish character) and figure that should be on the cover but open to suggestions such as custom illustrations etc. I don't want a cover that only has photos as this seems too boring and does not show there is humour within. I am competent in Photoshop and InDesign so can make my own 3D mockups and Facebook banners if I have the source files, though am happy to have them included from the designer's expertise. As a photo book the dimensions are atypical. My InDesign files are 28cm x 21.6cm including bleed per page. There are 66 pages. I am looking at IngramSpark for printing with hardcover (may have a softcover version if there is a good reason for both) and 70lb full colour paper. No idea on what thickness that makes the spine. I included fiction and non-fiction in the genre as the images are real, but the stories I included are made up.
People that like the funny side of life. Fans of humour like The Far Side. People that entertain guests at home and want a talking point. People that like thinking about new ways to experience reality and to think how even mundane objects can be seen as beautiful. Coffee table owners. Business owners that have a waiting room. Art/photography students.

And then… they selected a winner!
They were amazing! They totally understood my vision from the very beginning and were absolutely wonderful to work with. They reworked and tweaked the smallest of details until it was perfect! Having all the design elements be 100% unique and created from scratch was so amazing to ensure my work was truly one of a kind!
Along the way, they met lots of talented designers…
