Waiting for Life: A Cancer Survivor's Story of Death, Humor, and Love
Daniel A. Seda, Ph.D.
Dr. Daniel A. Seda is a multidisciplinary performer, educator, life coach, and author. He earned his Ph.D. in Transpersonal Psychology from Sofia University, a master's in Public Administration from Baruch College, and a bachelor's in Communication from North Carolina State University. As a child, Dan was diagnosed with Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia and had a near-death experience that changed his life. Now, he lives in California with his husband and their dog, Charlie. Dan enjoys visiting family in the mountains of North Carolina and writing books on anomalous experiences.
A sensitive child with cancer survives death twice and has to find creative ways to come to terms with his unorthodox nature. Growing up in a dysfunctional family, he later pursues unconventional avenues of self-discovery to find out more about why reality seems so relentlessly unfamiliar. Dan's story encompasses the complexities of intimate relationships, the challenges associated with human and spiritual maturation, and the importance of cultivating an indefatigable positive attitude to experience miracles in the unlikeliest of circumstances.
My story is captivating for 20-somethings, relatable for 30-somethings, compelling for 40-somethings, and meaningful for 50-somethings. This book makes a host of references to what life was like growing up, living, and working, during the 80s, 90s, and early millennia in Raleigh, North Carolina, New York, NY, and San Francisco, California. The content of this book is diverse, humorous, tragic, witty, revealing, salacious, and provocative. Imagine David Sedaris and Augusten Burroughs had a baby and they all moved to Schitt's Creek.
Book cover type
At this point, I don't have an idea in mind, so I'm open to seeing what you can come up with. The crux of the book is a humorous coming of age story that originates out of and into the serious subjects of life and death. I suffered a lot growing up and I learned how to turn these experiences into something positive. I'm looking for a design that is witty, eye-catching, and inspirational. Thank you! Best always, Dan
What to avoid
I really respect creativity and hard work, so please don't submit something that looks overtly trite or amateurish. I'm easy to work with, so let me know if you have any questions. I 'm looking forward to working with you real soon! Best always, Dan
