Art & Design
I build violins, entirely handmade, putting my utmost abilities into each one and striving to produce concert quality instruments. Violins are bounded by tradition, largely unchanged for about 400 years. I work firmly within that tradition. I am targeting college-age students studying violin in conservatories and schools of music and music departments at universities. I am also targeting young professional violinists. It may be important to know that for many young musicians their teachers’ opinions are extremely influential concerning instrument purchases. I imagine the logo ought to have my name in it and identify me as a violin maker. Dedicated to building exceptional instruments for exceptional violinists. I am dedicated to providing violinists with a great tool for making music. But truly, instead of simply making violins, my aim is to make delighted violinists. I strive to have a variety of instruments on hand for you to try, each with its own tonal personality, yet each one responsive, resonant, powerful. There is a lot to say about the aesthetic and tonal qualities of violins, yet ultimately, words are unimportant to the player: You must see it, play it, and hear it for yourself to know if it is the one for you.
Other color requirements
Colors: earthy orange, reddish ocher, brownish & black (typical warm old and new violin colors)
Disregard graphics on our draft website http://www.davidfinckviolins.com as everything there, logo and images, are placeholders. But you can see the architecture, color scheme, logo size and proportions required, image proportions etc... on our draft website We do like the font "Imprint MT Shadow" and similar chiseled fonts, and would not mind seeing them tried, as well as your own font selections, but not obligatory to use. Logo needs to fit in space and with proportions you see on draft website at http://www.davidfinckviolins.com. Logo graphic there is simply placeholder and need not be considered a design direction, but the theme, architecture and color scheme for website is selected and set. Theme on which webiste based http://organicthemes.com/demo/restaurant/ Logo will also be used as label to place inside violin, numbered and signed etc... as is the custom for all fine musical instruments. If you do want to try some wood grain backgrounds we have uploaded numerous wood grains, patterns and elements of our violins below.
