Cable is going to be a Broadway musical that tells the story of a Dust Bowl survivor who migrates to California in search for a new life and ends up working in an elite cabling crew on the construction of the Golden Gate Bridge in the mid 1930's. Cable is a historical fiction narrative that captures the essence of the pursuit of happiness, the accomplishment of the impossible dream and the triumph of the human spirit. We would like to have this bold, inspiring energy reflected on the logo of our musical.
We are open to ideas on the type of logo that’s best for our brand. 1. The story is centered on the construction of the Golden Gate Bridge, but here in San Francisco we see many businesses already using the bridge in their logos, so we would like to see some creative alternatives to that. 2. Also, the word Cable in our story refers to the cables that hold up the Golden Gate Bridge, but we see how the word alone can have different meanings, such as cable networks, for example. Reinforcing the correct meaning is also important. 3. Although the story is set in the mid 1930's, we want to captivate contemporary audiences in 2022 when Cable premieres. We are interested in having the logo make a connection between both eras. 4. We would like to see some ideas that incorporate the struggle for achieving your dreams, rather than logos that simply connect the Golden Gate Bridge to the fact that it's a Broadway musical. The logo will be used in artistic ways rather than corporate and so it needs to be visually compelling, attractive, poetic and expressive. 5. The logo will be used as a centerpiece in posters, banners, billboards, merchandise, TV and internet ads. Some elements of the Golden Gate Bridge's style are the fog, the sea, the sunset, seagulls, rivets, cables, art deco features, high altitude, construction, ships and big metal structures.
