Columbus got their new button or icon by running a design contest:
Icon for Music Notation Program
Check out Columbus's Button or icon contest…
I've written a music-notation-program. Its name is 'PriMus', which stands for 'printed music'. I need some good looking program-icon and an accompanying document-icon.
What's your vision?
My own ideas and attempts can be seen here: http://www.columbussoft.de/design/primus5a.ico http://www.columbussoft.de/design/priyellow2.ico http://www.columbussoft.de/design/doc1.ico http://www.columbussoft.de/design/doc2.ico http://www.columbussoft.de/design/p-big-1.png http://www.columbussoft.de/design/p-big-2.png http://www.columbussoft.de/design/p-big-3.png The idea is simple: take the 'p' from the musical character-set and place it on a circle. The document-icon is the usual sheet with a small version of the progam-icon. Basically not bad, but the realisation is far from perfect, since I'm a programmer, not a designer and don't even really know how to use that icon-editors. So it definitly deserves some polishing. Or just some different idea. I'm open to it. The font, which contains the 'p' can be downloaded here, the p is on position 97 (letter 'a') http://www.columbussoft.de/design/primus.ttf
- A clear, decent design, either polished my own approach or something different.
