New Icon for Newsroom System needed
Check out werwi007's Button or icon contest…
The leading company for Newsroom Computer Systems is looking for new and modern icons for its main products. The icons should resemble the existing ones and must follow the icon styleguides for Windows Vista. For more details please read the complete brief.
What's your vision?
Tagline: Not required Desired Color Scheme: blue, yellow, red Desired Style: modern, seriously, innovative Accepted File Formats: Standard Web Formats (.jpg, .gif or .png); Vector Formats (.eps, .pdf or .ai); Layered Formats (.psd or .tiff); ico  Our main application needs some refreshment and the first step is a new icon to be placed on the user’s desktop, which will be a Windows Vista system.  Thus the basic image size is fixed to 256 x 256 pixels for the new icon, but down-scales to any other formats like 48 x 48 or 32 x 32 are also needed. Especially a 16 x 16 format, which may not automatically be generated with acceptable results from the large image, is desired. Color depth should exploit full 16 M color range + alpha channel. We would prefer a vector based format, but as Windows needs the single raster formats anyhow, all entries are welcome.  The new icon should resemble the existing ones, so that the user has the feeling of recognition. But all ideas to give it a modern and up-to-date look and feel are highly appreciated.  You can find the “old-style" icons here: http://img1.bildupload.com/4bf17ee9b20283875287615b24d1de94.jpg  One important point is that all text has to disappear. Only the basic structure and coloring scheme should be maintained.  Additionally we need a second icon, which should be used for the administration tool for this software. So the main symbol should be the same, only smaller, and an additional tool symbol like to hammer or screwdriver should indicate the configuration purpose. The technical specification for this second icon is the same as for the first one.
