Icons for software application

We are revamping a vehicle management system and require new icons to represent tyres, rims, and axles. 1 Tyre, 3 Rims & 1 Axle.
What's your vision?
ALTERATIONS TO THE ORIGINAL SPEC BELOW: ----------------------------- We're getting many entries that are similar, this is I suppose the result of a fairly tight brief. We're encouraging creativity now. We'd appreciate the sizes & proportions to be approximately the same, but all else is up to the designer. Slightly 3d versions encouraged, e.g. cut away type style for then tyre fitted to rim. (Tyre appears cut away to reveal the time.) ----------------------------- We currently have a tyre and rim tracking application which allows the fitment of tyres and rims to vehicles. This is represented in an overhead view of a vehicle. We would like these core icons recreated. Although there are 5 icons in total three are simple variations of each other. What we need are the below 5 icons (with width and height listed in pixles) : 1) Tyre (32x32) 2) Rim (Coloured) (32x14) 3) Rim (coloured, when placed over tyre) (32x14) 4) Rim (greyed, disabled look) (32x14) 5) Axle (47x15) Colour depth to be no greater than 256 for technical reasons. Click on the below link to download a pdf with samples of what we have now for reference. There's a table at the bottom which shows exactly which icons we want replaced. https://www.entire.net.au/Redesign_of_Core_Appication_Icons.pdf Please refer to the document when reading this following description: The tyre and rim are separate objects, the rim being smaller than the tyre. In the screen in the doc the front left and rear left are just rim pictures. The front right is only a tyre picture. The rear right is a tyre picture with a rim picture superimposed. This is why tyres and rims need to be different sizes. The design of the tyre must be such that the smaller rim picture can be placed over the top to make it look like a rim is fitted, in a cutaway fashion. The important part is that the rim and tyre overall picture sizes remain as above to allow the user enough space to click either part of the picture depending on if they want the rim or tyre. In the sample you'll see there are icons on the far right also, if this goes well then we will most likely seek to have these redone at a later date to match the other new icons. There are about another 20 of these that are not visible in this screenshot.
We really just want the icons updated to something stylish and new, and clearly identifiable as rims and tyres. We’ll be revamping the look of the software to make it look more modern and this is the first step. We need the icons to clearly be able to demonstrate the states of no tyre or rim, tyre only, rim only, and rim plus tyre. Colours : The tyre should be black. The rim should be yellow. Format : Gif, with transparent backgrounds. Colour depth : No more than 256. Sizes : Sizes of the icons are not absolutely fixed ,they can vary slightly if required. Rims & tyres certainly no smaller, but up to 10% larger if designer thinks this is appropriate. Axle should be no wider but can be slightly higher by about 10% if designer sees fit. You can see by the sample doc that there isn't all that much free space to deal with as there can be up to four tyres across each axle rather than the two in the example. Note on sizing. The system uses a drag drop, so the rim must be smaller than the tyre, and sit in the middle, so the user can easily click on the rim or tyre picture behind it if one is fitted. For this reason the proportion or rim to tyre must remain very close to what we have already. Style : Up to the designer, clean, simple & stylish are our current ideas, and that's about it. Bear in mind we'll most likely want to redo all other icons in the application to match the style used here. The tyres we track are large off-road and smaller on-road tyres which differ a lot in size and shape, so we’re going more for a ‘generic’ tyre that could represent either.
