The designer was wonderful to work with. I had many things going on and she kept me on task. I was constantly reminding the contestants to re-read the design brief but not with ksenija. I will definitely use her again in future projects...or maybe hire her full time!
How Written started their custom wordpress themes journey
MomSquawk is popular community for mothers, and we’re redesigning the layout of our homepage and post pages to emphasize long-form article content on the site.
The new design will be implemented in Wordpress , but will not look very "bloggy." Our goal is to mimic Associated Content, Suite101 and large ad-supported content sites. To this end, we’ve attached wireframe (Balsamiq) mockups for our desired layouts for the 3 page templates on the site: the homepage, category pages, and the “post” (article) page.
We have an existing logo, color scheme, and graphic elements, which we generally like but are not constrained by. You can find it at http://www.momsquawk.com (artwork attached) but we need to rework it into the new layout and create several small graphical elements as well. The important thing is that the visual style is appealing to our audience.
This project is for design only. The main goal is to implement the mockups in visual form.

35+ mostly-Caucasian, college-educated, middle-class moms. In the past, feminine colors, cartoon-driven design centered around the bird motif has achieved this.
Very important -- read LayoutNotes.pdf document. There aren't any exotic requirements, just some details that are important.
