Energy Producing Retail Realty (EPR2; read "E-P-R-squared")
My name is Chris Pawlik, I grew up near Hermosa/Manhattan Beach, CA and graduated from UC Berkeley with a triple major (Business Administration, Political Economy of Industrial Societies and Slavic Languages & Literature.) While at CAL I played water polo and participated in various student as well as non-profit organizations focused on providing better access to education for students from K-College. In my spare time I enjoy going to concerts, surfing and traveling.
After graduating from CAL I worked in the commercial real estate and finance industries in various capacities. My experience has given me a great fundamental understanding of both industries and a unique perspective on the issues affecting our present global, political-economic situation. Recently, after spending 12 to 15 hrs/day, 5 to 7 days/week working for someone else, I decided to take the leap and start a new company that would allow me to explore my real passion further.
That passion is accelerating cleantech deployment so that we can get the US and global economy back on track while getting people most affected back to work (particularly those in real estate, finance and retail sectors.) To this end, I was the co-chair of the 6th edition of the Berkeley-Stanford Cleantech Conference (bscleantech.org/bscc6), I'm advising the 7th edition with Secretary Chu and I'm the cleantech sector leader for the USPTC.
EPR-squared's target audience will be mixed since we are focused on aligning the interests of the Finance, Real Estate and Energy industries. Our audience will include single-family home owners to commercial owners with hundreds of buildings in their portfolios to multi-billion dollar investors. The site will also attract students as well as entrepreneurs working in the cleantech sector.
EPR-squared is creating a completely new market that will revolutionize three of the largest and most traditional industries in the world. Through our business method we aim to create a collaborative effort that will benefit every participant while creating an entirely new market. This innovative market has the potential to get currently unemployed individuals back to work while creating new jobs in the process, which should attract public and private support.
Although we will be serving traditional industries, we would like to convey an edgy, tech culture that will attract the best and brightest from all over the world. We will be looking for young, energetic and intelligent engineers, real estate professionals and finance specialists. In addition, we want to make sure that those that are interested in our company mission have integrity, are self-motivated and passionate about life.
Finally, I would also like to make sure that a 5th grader finds the website engaging and easy to navigate.
The home page should be appealing and easy to navigate. I would prefer that there be space for a picture(s) and basic content info. In addition, the following navigation tabs should be included:
* About Us
* Contact Us
I like websites that have white backgrounds that give the illusion that the images and content are being presented in 3D (via shading or layering techniques.)
I am a minimalist and appreciate the ability to make complex ideas and patterns simple. I believe that simplicity in design creates a timeless elegance that I hope can be expressed immediately when the site is accessed. Less is more.
My end goal with this website is to be able to direct interested parties to learn more about the company, have access to relevant news and info as well as provide contact information.
