What's your vision?
I am updating old artwork and need another design "brought to life". I am replacing old two dimensional minimalist designs with more vibrant 3 dimensional versions of the originals. I have attached before and afters for our sacred cow and phat abbot tripel so you can see the direction we are taking our new packaging and the way the new packaging references the old packaging. I do not need the 6 packs or labels designed, I just need the artwork. But I am showing examples of the sixers and labels to you can see how the illustration is used. There needs to be enough background so that the image can be used on the 6 side and end panels as well as labels and posters. There is a guide attached to this brief with the sizes of the different uses. For the first phase of the contest you can just focus on the main character and a basic background concept and if your design is chosen for the final round we can flesh out the background you won't have to spend too much time developing the background unless you are in the running for the prize. I need the final artwork in a layered photoshop file with the foreground image or character separate from the background image. Our designs are character driven with a strong central character. The character for this design could be a person drinking a cup of espresso or it could be the cup itself. But whatever it is, the character image needs to be strong and memorable like in the other artwork examples attached. I want to keep the brown and red package design only with bolder richer brown and red so the design should work on a brown and red 6 pack. The illustration style should also be similar to the examples to create a coherent theme across brands. Also please be aware that some of the examples shown are four packs (FIGJAM and TRIPEL) and others are six packs (like the sacred cow and jackhammer). This will be used on a 6 pack. The beer this artwork is for is called Espresso Love. It is a stout made with oatmeal and coffee.
I like the way espresso love is coming out of the cup like steam on the label but it doesn't work on the 6 pack. If the name espresso love is incorporated into the artwork it needs to work for both of these applications. Oh and the photo is me and my husband. If you use a couple on a coffee shop as the central image you could base it on us.
