Tell us a bit about who you are and the people you reach
We are a high end beer bar originally specializing in Belgian beer, now opening a second location adding British, German, other European beers. Our audience is 30-65, M/F, more educated, well-traveled.
What inspires you and how do you envision the design for your business?
We are named The Abbey because some of the best beers in the world are brewed by Trappist monks, and an abbey is where the monks live and brew (and drink beer). I want illustrations that will go with our "Abbey" idea and logo, that I can use for a variety of applications (on t-shirts and other shwag, as super-sized artwork on an accent wall at our new location, on ads, etc.). Thoughts I had were something in either line work or a silhouette, stylized, realistic--NOT cutesy or cartoonish, not busy (think: one subject, not a bunch of things), something that conveys gravity and drama but isn't too religious, something that will NOT offend religious people, something a bit edgy.
Looking for a single, realistic-looking illustration, not a bunch of elements. See the single monk below on the Ovila beer, or the angel behind the words on the infidel label. I also like the stencil style of the children and the line drawing style of the street art pictures, below. I also like the old style map graphics similar to the octopus shown below. Our logo is just included so you can see our colors/style, and I am not looking for it to be part of the graphic. Would also like to see more ideas than just monks with wings.
