Starling's mission is to create, to connect, and to inspire communities of trust, and to empower those communities to drive increased institutional integrity. That sounds heavy, but it's not, and nor should be our logo...! Our aim is to harness the power of big data analytics to the energy and optimism of social networks, creating a community platform and a set of online and mobile device tools that will work to foster greater trust among communities of like-minded folks across a broad range of organizational and institutional settings. We are a "tech-enabled" business -- not a tech business -- with peer networks at our core. While we're not creating a new social media company, we will work on top of existing household names in social media: e.g., Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, Tumblr, Pinterest, etc. We also intend for our products and services to be relevant to a global audience, so we want a logo that is image driven rather than text driven. That say, text itself can serve as an "image" of sorts -- e.g., consider Pinterest's logo -- so creative means of incorporating the word "Starling" are desirable. We want a logo that is clean, modern, elegant: simple without being simplistic. I've attached lots of images that inspire my own creativity, and while none is "just right" I hope that these will help to inspire more productive creative thought for you...!
What's your vision?
I am after a cartoon that shows a person re-arranging the deck chairs on the Titanic. It has to be clear that the ship is the Titanic. Over the back of the chairs I'd like to have towels and, on each of those towels, I'd like to have text: Staff Surveys Ethics Training Surveillance & Monitoring Townhall Meetings Systems & Processes Tone from the Top I may add others but I'll want at least those six chairs. More detail to follow as ideas start to come in. Thanks in advance to all those who participate, especially those artists with whom I've worked previously!
I am after something fun but professional.
