UPDATE: After seeing a few people (mistakenly or purposely) using 'Sons of Vikings' versus 'Ragnar's Raven', we are actually going to change the title. This book is over 400 pages, with 28 chapters covering all of the famous Vikings and their ancestors, so it makes sense to use 'Sons of Vikings' instead. The new sub-title will be '"History of Ragnar and other legendary Vikings". With this said, the use of a raven somewhere within the graphic is no longer that important. Our website (SonsOfVikings.com) sells Viking merchandise; jewelry, drinking horns, home decor, etc. We also publish blog posts on Viking related news and history. This is our first book about Ragnar Lothbrok and other legendary Vikings. We are targeting people who are primarily interested in Viking history (and/or proud of their Nordic / Celtic heritage) and a secondary target would be fans of the Vikings TV series.
What's your vision?
A realistic illustration of Vikings charging into a battle or actually in the middle of a battle with a focus on one leader in front with his army behind him. Our book is about the history of Vikings.
Unlike what I have on the provided concept cover, portrayal of Ragnar cannot look exactly like the actor from the TV series. However, a slight resemblance would not be a bad thing. I am looking for an action scene, such as them jumping off their Viking ships charging into battle, or running into a battle (such as seen in the concept cover) or actually in the middle of a battle. No helmets please. I would definitely like to see something better with the fonts and typography (compared to what I have on the attached concept cover). Whatever you think looks best.
