Client information Kaffeeatlas We are a german service focused on the german market, established in 2019. Our brand name is Kaffeeatlas. "Kaffeeatlas" is german and means "coffee atlas". On kaffeeatlas.de everything revolves around good coffee. Directory of Roasteries Here you will find a directory, a description and portraits of all local coffee roasters (approx. 500) in Germany as well as coffee houses that sell products of the local roasters. The aim is, that coffee- interested users can browse the directory and discover new roasteries and their products instead of purchasing the mainstream industrial coffee brands from large companies. Articles and Knowledge Regarding Coffee: An online-magazine provides coffee-enthusiasts with insights regarding roasteries, coffee- production and coffee-preparation. E-Commerce Platform for Coffee: As the next step we will make online-shopping for freshly roasted coffe from small roasteries possible. Until now the only way to buy coffee online is to either rely on large coffee-retailers which may store coffe up to one year which does have a negative effect on taste and aroma or to shop at local roasteries which often dont have an adequate online-pressence and user experience and also may not suit a users need for a broader product-palette. Our Mission: We are dedicated to create the best digital marketplace for fresh coffee beans that is highly attractive to local roasters who care about their product quality and consumers who love to discover new roasts and roasteries. We always honor the needs of roasters and the importance of premium quality coffee. Benefits for Our Customers Freshness: We sell batches of freshly roasted coffee even before its roasted. This way we can guarantee the best possible taste and quality. Traditional and Gentle Production (Drum Roasting): We work with small roasteries which are not relying on indistrialized coffee production methods without any added chemicals or flavors. Only Regional German Roasters: We cultivate a tight relationship with all roasteries which we have listed. We only work with manufacturers which align with our values and quality-standards. Exclusive Roasts: A part of our products are exclusive roasts which are not available anywhere else. Discovering New Flavors: Our can experience new flavors by gaining access to the hand-manufactured products of small roasteries which would otherwise be reserved to the roasteries' local area due to a lack in online reach or lack in appropriate e-commerce presence. Competition Roastmarket: https://www.roastmarket.de/ Aromatico: https://www.aromatico.de/ Brand What Makes Us Unique: We ourselves are coffee-lovers and try to bring together the interests of roasters and coffee- lovers. We provide the medium for those two to come together in an online form. We provide our high-quality-seeking customers with an user experience and online-shopping experience that small roasters struggle with providing. Brand Essence / Values: exquisity individuality trustworthyness discovery sensory craftmanship torough transparency Platforms: Mostly digital (web mobile and desktop, social media) as well as print (packaging, flyers) Pricing: high-priced Target Audience: Our target audience are coffee-lovers in Germany with high quality standards. They may have advanced knowledge and equipment for their coffee preparation but may also be casual coffee- drinkers with an interest in new flavors, high-quality coffee or local roasteries. Our customers are best represented by LOHAS (lifestyle of health and sustainability). This group does span a wide range of demographics and mostly identifies by values : - concern for the environment - social conscience - personal fulfillment and individuality authenticity - naturalness high-quality early-adopters high-performing The target audience aims for healtyh food and is willing to spend more time and money for it than other groups. Just as important are enjoyment, taste and the highest possible quality while fair- trade, sustainability and regionality are determining factors for choosing food and beverages. While customers of this group span almost all demographics many are represented by: higher education high net-income age 25 - 50 They value authentic communication and look for brands which align with their values (quality, care for environment, fairness / ethical standards, regionality, healthiness).
Please use our existing logo (pin with text next to it) - our focus is on typography and brand colors and overall visual identity. You can find an examples of a moodboard which we did for our first branding - we would like to see something like that as a submission for the first phase. You don't have to use that as a template - just for inspiration. Objective: We are looking for a visual identity as foundation for all further communication materials like packaging, flyers and also a website redesign. We already have a Logo and would like to have in incorporated into our new visual identity. We look for a clean overall look and flexible typography which works well digital as well as in print. Since we are primarily an e-commerce platform, examples showing typical UI components as well as packaging or small flyers would be helpful. Focus should be on brand colors, typography but also the incorporation of images. Design Challenge: Tone The main challenge will be finding a clean, modern and individual appearance while maintaining a connection to the coffee topic. Content The branding should be flexible enough to be incorporated easily in different contexts. The challenge will be finding a balance of achieving our design goals (individuality, clean, modern) while still being applicable to a content-heavy platform. Problems with the status quo: Our main problems with the current design are: - typography: readability of headlines not always optimal - lacking in personality: not very flexible in concern to different design applications - color: sometimes lacking contrast - overall look too washed-out in brownish / beige colors seems to fit the coffe-topic but also lacks personality - images: lack of coherent pictorial-language Qualities We Are Looking For in The Branding: - rather light than dark (overall appearance of our brand, but we can still incorporate dark tones ) - modern and clean spacious - structured - contrast - clean overall look but still with strong highlights Requirements / Deliverables A) The Brand Styleguide should contain - but is not limited to: - incorporation of existing logo - description of the key-values to be respected in the brand appearance B) typography - font family selection - definition of recommended font-sizes - different recommended combinations of headlines and body copy. - C) color: -primary and secondary colors shown in possible contexts as well as recommended shades D) images - general guide on images (motives, colors, texture, mood, combination of text and images) Additional Info - Please contact us, if you have any questions. We can also answer if anything is unclear due to the fact, that our site is currently only available in German. - existing Logo: see attached files - existing colors and typography (only as reference, should be changed): see attached files - existing website (since language is German, see attached screenshots with english comments): https://kaffeeatlas.de roastery profile page: https://kaffeeatlas.de/erste-tegernseer-kaffeeroesterei.html roastery index by region: https://kaffeeatlas.de/kaffeeroestereien-bayern magazine: https://kaffeeatlas.de/magazin shop: see attached files
