Lea Electric LLC has been in business for 35 years. We've had a very basic clip-art handshake as our logo since the beginning. I made a new logo concept a few years ago (lightning bolt hand shake). We like the concept of the lightning bolt/hand-shake logo but it is not polished or professional looking.
The original owner, Rex Lea, passed away in about 1997. Mr. Lamarque bought the company and has grown it significantly to be one of the largest electrical contractors in the region.
The hand-shake has always signified a partnership with our clients. Keeping the hand-shake might help existing customers recognize the new logo, and it does symbolize an important aspect of our business - relationships. The hand-shake is not required if another new design better captures what we stand for. Quality work, value, professionalism & trust.
We do large commercial projects like hospitals, airports, and manufacturing facilities.
Some symbols that might work are hard-hats, lightning bolts, electrical symbols from electrical drawings/blueprints. We may want to emphasize the "L" in Lea Electric since the new owner's last name starts with "L" also.
Blue has been our traditional color, but since new construction is the core of our business we should explore using the fluorescent yellow and orange colors commonly found on construction sites used for high visibility clothing - "safety yellow, and safety orange". These three colors are a good starting point but are not required. We are open to new colors if they fit the designer's theme better.
We will want the following items:
1.) A logo symbol that can be printed by itself on a hat that identifies our brand and identifies what we do.
2.) A version of the Logo with the words Lea Electric or Lea Electric LLC
3.) A version with the Logo and words Lea Electric with room for an additional tag-line such as Your Construction Partner for 35 Years, or Quality Construction & Service
4.) Business card
5.) A basic Letterhead layout with the final logo would be a nice added element. Provide all assets in .ai or other native and editable formats (preferably adobe based. .jpg and .png files of final logo versions monotone, gray-scale, and color combinations for various background colors.
