How mdblum started their logo design journey
TMP (also known as Turnkey Merchandise Programs) find our ugly logo and website at tmpcompany.com
We are a small ecommerce, marketing, merchandising and fulfillment company that manages all the aspects of an online store for clients. We design and build their store, help them choose products to feature, store the products in our warehouse, and ship products to customers when they order from us.
We work with both business to consumer and business to business stores and brands. We are young, dynamic and move quickly. We don't have a lot of red tape that larger companies do. We want to be seen as quick and nimble, but experienced and knowledgeable. We don't necessarily want to be viewed as trendy, but do want to be seen as contemporary.
We are not at all satisfied with our current logo and identity which were developed in a rush when the company first started. We've been too busy to revisit it until now.
We want to stay with blue (as seen in logo on tmpcompany.com) as part of our primary palette. Other than that, we are wide open to design ideas.
Tell us a bit about who you are and the people you reach
Our target audience is potential clients. Our clients consist of large companies who manage successful brands, looking to ad an ecommerce merchandise component.
Think of it like this: Coca-Cola has a tremendous brand, and they want to put their brand to work for them in a new way. They want to open an online store featuring tons of high quality Coca-Cola merchandise. Our target audiences are like Coca-Cola in this example. We want them to come to us, so that we can operate their online store for them. We want our audience to think of us as technology, merchandise, marketing and business experts that can bring a new way of thinking and new proficiencies to their business.
(Coca-Cola is not our client, but used for an example only)
We are looking for a logo with accompanying company name logotype/wordmark that we will base our identity system on. We would like the logotype/wordmark to incorporate our company name in 1 of 2 forms (TMP or Turnkey Merchandise Programs) and our website (tmpcompany.com). If using the full Turnkey Merchandise Programs, please emphasize Turnkey and de-emphasize Merchandise Programs.
We would like to incorporate an abstract concept of 'turning' or a 'key' into our logo. Nothing obvious and overt, but subtle and integrated into the overall design.
We would like the font to be reminiscent of current web companies' font choices. Apple, Google, etc. Something simple, but strong and clean. Script fonts are disqualified.
