Zadok & Teska (Z&T) - Individual Product Brands to Follow
Financed out of London but with sourcing resources in Africa and Asia, Zadok & Teska (Z&T) will primarily be a web-based retailer, but will also establish flagship stores in key European cities.
Our vision is to create a unique new African brand targeted on selling African-themed or inspired products internationally. Very much the way someone like Shanghai Tang exports Chinese-themed or inspired fashion to the world at large, by taking traditional Chinese prints and designs but adapting and modifying them for the global market.
In this sense we don’t want a traditional African image or product line (e.g. http://www.africastyles.com ) but want something more contemporary and international (e.g. http://www.arisemagazine.net , http://www.fashionafrica.com or http://www.africanfashionint.com ). Unlike these African Haute Couture sites, however, we will be targeting the mass market. So more like American Apparel ( http://www.americanapparel.com ) but from Africa not America.
As with these other sites, one of Zadok & Teska (Z&T)'s core businesses will be fashion but will also potentially diversify into cosmetics, kids products and even health & nutrition. The Fashion business will focus on men's and women's products - suits, shirts, skirts, gowns, trousers, bags, shoes, etc. The actual brand names for the various product sub-segments will be different than the corporate name (e.g. the Kids products will be sold under the Tova brand).
Need a bold yet clean design that while displaying its African roots boldly and proudly, still appears thoroughly contemporary and international. It should also say Africa without singling out a particular region, nation or ethnic group. Not sure how we do this though, will be interested in seeing your ideas.
In addition (and as always) I'm also looking for logos with:
- Two and at most three colors in the logo
- A logo that looks crisp even after photocopying in black and white
- Unique but still easy to remember
I should also make clear that while we’ll want a variant of the logo with the Company Name spelled out, we would want the logo to stand on its own and possibly work with the other product brand names. As such we won’t want a logo that is just some variant of the Initials of the Company (i.e. Don't use Z&T in the logo graphic).
THE GRAPHIC OR IMAGE MUST BE SEPARATE FROM (BUT COMPATIBLE WITH) THE COMPANY NAME.
Even though we've gave specific instructions for our logo design concept as the the direction we would like it to take, we are always open to new ideas and concepts. So please feel free to explore your creativity, ignore our directions above and submit your own artistic design, because the more creative freedom one has to explore their own path the better; ideas are limitless.
We would like to thank all of the artists who have taken the time to work on our logo project for their hard work and effort.
If you have any questions, please feel free to ask.
