Strategic Attorney LLC
SA LLC was founded by Diedre Wachbrit Braverman, a nationally known estate planner and Bennett Braverman, a premier high net worth estate planner. The two are married and commute between Westlake Village, CA and Boulder, CO. Both have thriving estate planning practices but enjoy teaching and are looking to create something new and different with Strategic Attorney.
Lots of people sell marketing systems but no one else is out there helping attorneys become more profitable, make the right hiring choices, and align their practices with their commitments in life. We will help them identify those commitments: to their children, their teams, their clients and themselves and then help hold them accountable to living up to those commitments.
This inspires us. One of our commitments is to share what we've learned in an innovative and inspiring way so that others can gain value by how we've processed and "packaged" it.
So while we are mentoring our client in "hard" stuff like accounting, we plan to sneak in some transformational technology to improve their lives. We think this will have a greater impact on their quality of life and lead to stronger, longer, more profitable and more satisfying mentor-client relationships.
Finally, we are all about family. Our commitment to each other, our children and our pets is strong and deep.
The Strategic Attorney Mentoring Program by Strategic Attorney LLC guides just ten estate planning attorneys nationwide in 3 areas: Professional Development, Rain-Making (legalese for sales & marketing) and Practice Management. This will be the first time some of our clients ever look at their profit and loss statements or whether their marketing campaigns are working. Or whether they *enjoy* how they market their services.
Some of our clients will be new to estate planning as a practice area and they will be leaning on us for basic legal knowledge. Others will be new to practice in a certain way (for example, as a sole practitioner rather than at a big firm), still others will simply be looking for change because they know what they're doing isn't working in some way, probably financially.
We are only targeting estate planners at this point, and we are targeting those who feel a little uncertain... who want the security of a mentor standing behind them, cheering them on and whispering tips in their ear when no one else is looking.
Realistically, people will probably come to us wanting more sales first and foremost: more revenues. The other, more meaningful areas of what we can offer may have to wait until we deliver on sales and marketing. (In fact, the winning designer may get referrals to create identity kits.)
One of the design concepts we've explored with some success is the number 3 because we are focusing on three areas. We like a blobby kind of off-kilter venn diagram kind of design with three transparent colors. It's the only design we've come up with that we've really liked so I hope someone will try to execute on that. But we are very open to other ideas.
A concept we've explored with less success is two people sitting or standing together. And we absolutely abhor the cliched handshake concept, especially since they are always two male hands and one of us is a female.
Diedre is really the driver behind the firm. Bennett is a supporter but doesn't see himself doing as much of the actual mentoring.
We don't want it to look lawyerly but we want to convey professionalism: we are charging a substantial fee. We don't want it to look like life coaching but we want to convey warmth and caring: this is a highly personal service.
We don't want it to look like high-tech but we do want to distinguish it from all the marketing packages that are out there: this really is new and different and cutting-edge.
And while it's about hard numbers, it will impact our clients' entire lives, including their families, for the better.
