1. Description of what I do:
Private foodie tours in Moscow and St Petersburg (Russia)
My name is Maria and I am passionate food lover. I have visited a lot of countries and the first thing I do when start planning my next trip is reading restaurant reviews and making table reservations. Good food is my passion.
Foreign friends and colleagues usually ask for good and interesting restaurants when coming to Moscow and St Petersburg. When I have received another numerous 'Thank you so much!' response for a restaurant recommended by me I realized that my passion about good, local, tasty, unique and interesting food may be helpful for some other people coming to my home city - Moscow and my beloved St Petersburg, Russia.
WHAT THIS BLOG IS ABOUT: Restaurant reviews as well as stories about interesting and no common places and point of interests in Moscow, St Petersburg and around. This blog as well as instragram is in English language only.
WHAT CAN I DO FOR YOU: Are you going to visit Russia and wants some recommendations from a local foodie? Just say me what type of cuisine do you like and what are you favorite restaurants in the world (3* Michelin stars' Epicure in Paris? Tiny sushi bar at Tsukiji Market in Tokyo? Noisy Borough Market in London?) and I am going to provide personalized recommendations for you, book a table, organize your turnover and recommend some interesting spots as a bonus. Should you decide to visit some secret local places and/or worry about language difficulties, I can also be your private guide. Just send me a message and ask about the details.
PS: I want to show people who visit Russia for business or leisure that my country is not only about blyni, caviar and vodka (although there are a couple good Russian traditional restaurants) but also modern gastro bistros, local products and wine, creative chefs included in the lists of best restaurants in the world! Don't be misinformed by tourists places which none local foodie and good food quality lover will never visit!
Maria 'Borscht Sommelier'"
2. Blog will be made via Facebook page plus instagram. Further - probably private web site.
3. Some clarifications: Borscht is a traditional red colour Russian soup made from beetroot. Borscht Sommelier is some kind of joke in order to show my audience that my blog is about high-quality foof and wine ('sommelier') in Russia ('borscht').
4. Target audience: foreign private tourists middle and up-middle class, age 30 and up.
