Brand our popular outdoor sports and recreation TV show

Games & Recreational
Pioneer Public Television, located in western Minnesota with the region’s largest geographic viewing area, is bringing back its popular Prairie Sportsman weekly TV series. We are refreshing the brand to appeal to a Midwestern audience of outdoor sports and recreation enthusiasts. Prairie Sportsman has been on rerun status for almost five years, so the brand will need to appeal to the traditional hunting and fishing viewers we want to bring back, as well as a more diverse audience (including females and people of color) interested in recreational trails, kayaking, snowshoeing and other outdoor sports. Each show will also focus on environmental protections needed to sustain outdoor recreation.
The logo needs to be simple so it can be embroidered on shirts, jackets etc. for our production staff, as well as brand online and print communications. It would be nice to have a symbol that can be used in other applications as an identifier – without the program name, but the difficulty may be finding something that represents all outdoor sports. Potential symbols include prairie grass (remember there are no mountains in the Midwest) an outdoor boot or bootprint, or a tasteful collection of sports symbols representing hunting, fishing, hiking, biking, kayaking etc. such as a hook, bullet (or shotgun), bow or arrow, paddle, wheel.
