1Hope Winnipeg represents 5 outreach missions that have banded together to make sure they can continue to serve the communities that need them most.
The bulk of their work (99 per cent) is about serving the poorest and most marginalized people in the city of Winnipeg. For a long time the work of these missions has been pretty close to invisible. Belt tightening from core funders has made it tough to keep the doors open. Being invisible isn't an option any more.
Starting this fall, the missions will be looking to rebrand and raise broad public awareness about their work. Some of their core programs include:
-emergency food packages
-art therapy programs
-free daycare in the most disadvantaged community of the city
-mom and tot programs
-gay and lesbian outreach
One of the five missions - Rainbow - has a slightly different focus (it concentrates on gay and lesbian outreach).
A website will be launched early this fall. 1Hope Winnipeg will be looking to raise awareness and funds through a multifaceted campaign that may include print ads, video etc...
Tell us a bit about who you are and the people you reach
Our appeals will be targeted mainly to people who live in the city of Winnipeg (general public). Our first campaign will focus on mobilizing and/or connecting with suburban mothers.
Our aim is to empower our donors and the people in the communities we serve. It's about bridging a gap that can sometimes look hopeless.
*Winnipeg is a city on the Canadian prairies. Its inner city is home to some of the most disadvantaged people in Canada including a large aboriginal population.
This logo needs to work well on the web and in print. The tagline, "Five communities, one hope" is mandatory BUT we should be able to easily change the word 'FIVE' to 'MANY' in case one of our missions can't continue for some reason.
