Colossus is a media company that will be the parent company to multiple podcasts and other content outlets.

I have attached a word map and some shape identity ideas (words and shapes that resonate with the ethos of the media company). We would like the logo to be a combination of text and symbol. Ideally, the font can be powerful and recognizable on its own. Similarly, we would love the symbol to be able to stand on its own. As we scale, we’ll probably use the symbol in isolation with subsidiary brands. The logo should be possible to miniaturize so it can sit by itself in the top right corner of an iOS app or an image. We err on the side of simplicity where the symbol would not be overly literal nor overly abstract. As a guide, Tik Tok really resonates with us. The font can live on its own and the symbol can live in-front of or above the text, is a great blend of literal and abstract, and is striking on its own. Symbol: the symbol should emphasize adding units of knowledge to a growing whole. Our company will be focused on continually providing units of knowledge to build a "colossus" of knowledge and pave the way for the future and growth. You will see in the word and image map that some of our initial ideas are around growth, building, innovation, power, units, Legos, bricks, stairs, tools, skyscrapers, creation etc. 2 requests in terms of symbol, unless perfectly done, the symbol should not be an iteration on the letter “C”, and we would like to emphasize building and knowledge creation without our logo looking like a construction company. Typography: with respect to typography, we are thinking medium to heavy weight and UNIQUE. Ideally, it is modern, fun, professional, and potentially shows movement. The text should be a brand in itself. From a font standpoint, Disney is not a great example, but it does serve as a great example of how the text and magic kingdom can be separated and work in isolation. Additionally, I think the letter spacing should be fairly tight. Color: we are thinking primarily black with strong use of negative space. The logo should be neutral as we are going to build sub-brands off it. We'd be open to accent color as evident in Tik Tok. If color is used, I'm thinking something in the neon family would make sense: #5bfd70, #d9e501, #Ode9f6, and #f3374e but open to suggestions. Again, color would be for accenting. In general, we envision this media company being innovative, exciting, and as a place to build knowledge/learning. This should not be a conservative business logo nor a college humor logo. The ability to emphasize adding units of knowledge to shape the future is key. Attached are some images as potential inspiration.
