Advancing Health Equity
Health care is HUGE in the news right now and access to good health care is either going to get much better, or much worse. As the debate about health care continues, our project, “Advancing Health Equity” is focused on providing health care organizations with the tools, resources and best practices needed to make sure people of all backgrounds get the best health care possible.
What is Health Equity? It means that health care does not vary in quality by personal characteristics such as ethnicity, gender, geographic location, and socioeconomic status. When there is equitable care, everyone has the opportunity to attain their full health potential and no one is disadvantaged from achieving this potential because of their social position or other socially determined circumstance. Our program focuses on helping health care organizations provide equitable care to diverse populations by providing practical tools and information to help increase individual staff and organizational cultural competency, improve language services, collect and manage relevant demographic data, and initiate organizational change.
We are looking for a logo for our brand new site. This site is a resource center that both teaches about health equity and provides examples and tools about how to get to health equity.
Our target audience is the range of individuals that work in health care organizations (i.e. hospital, clinic, individual practice, health plan, medical group)
- Administrators
- Health care providers (e.g. Doctors, nurses)
- Health care staff (non-clinical)
- Health care advocates
- Health care researchers
