Who are you known as?
Dovetail On Overend
Tell us a bit about who you are and the people you reach
Dovetail on Overend is a new upmarket suburban cafe opening soon in the peaceful and affluent suburb of Norman Park on the southside of Brisbane (only 10 minutes from CBD). We offer a beautiful space for locals and visitors to commune where they can enjoy unique specialty grade coffee (a real focus for us) and other unique beverages complimented by healthy and delicious food offerings. Quality and Integrity will be our focus in everything we do - from coffee, food, and personal service with a smile.
Key target audience groups are - locals who live within a 1km radius, in particular mothers with younger children who appreciate quality and are happy to pay a premium for it; cyclists and coffee enthusiasts looking for amazing coffee in a relaxed green and leafy suburban setting, Gen Y groups/couples who like to meet for brunch at popular/trendy cafes.
The origin of our name: "Dovetail" - to join (two pieces of wood) with dovetail joints; to fit together in a pleasing or satisfying way; to connect or combine precisely or harmoniously. This concept describes one of our key aims which is to promote a sense of community.

It would be nice if we could incorporate some actual dovetail (ie joinery) in the design (perhaps a really clever and attractive dovetail effect in the word "Dovetail"), and/or doves/doves' tails. We want a "pretty" logo, as this will most closely match our overall concept.
A good example of another cafe who has a similar philosophy and target audience to us is "Dandelion and Driftwood" - we like their logo and it's use throughout their website and marketing etc.
