Alinaderzad needed a new logo design and created a contest on 99designs.
A winner was selected from 837 designs submitted by 115 freelance designers.
SCREEN COMMENT
A news magazine about the movies which publishes daily reviews, news and interviews, from James Franco to Nick Nolte.
Be part of the entertainment journalism revolution!
The new Screen Comment site is launching soon and we need your help to develop our brand.
The current Screen Comment has been housed on blogger for the last four years.
Here's what people say about it: In today's climate of mindless junketeers, Screen Comment provides evidence that serious film lovers exist (Eric Kohn, indiewire.com)
Whoever wins this contest will gain visibility with moviegoers, actors and filmmakers alike. Your logo will appear on top of the site, as a watermark in our trailers and festivals video player, and on business cards passed around at film festivals and awards ceremonies.
Here’s the exact text to use for the logo:
Screen Comment
where intelligent cinema lives
(use upper or lower-case as you wish)
PLEASE: do not use exclamation points, question marks, or quotes.
Ours is a news media organization, we are therefore a mainstream institution catering to a broad audience.
As news provider our content will be positioned for syndication by sites like Yahoo.
Our mainstream image is therefore important to our long-term strategy. We are not looking for a logo with an exotic typeface but rather something enduring and modern.
Some fonts we find interesting are ARIAL, HELVETICA, SOCIAL GOTHIC, Futura. Please look at some of the attached logos -- these are just some examples of wordmarks we feel are successful logos.
Preferred colors would be black, grey, blue, green, and red (but please use red sparingly)
Please always submit your concepts on both white and black backgrounds.
The top menu will have a white background not a black one as indicated on the mockup.
PLEASE don’t include anything that’s movie-memorabilia-related, like old film negative, sprockets, a projector. We just feel like it's been done before already. Thanks for your understanding.
