Food & Drink
Forgotten Roots is a traditional, pre-prohibition style winery focused on making high-quality wines using local, sustainable ingredients whenever possible. Our wines hearken back to an earlier time in American history when a little bit of ingenuity and creativity were required to make flavorful wines from whatever was available locally. Although the cottage tradition of winemaking with apples, plums, apricots and a variety of other fruits, flowers, and vegetables was once lost in the wake of commercialization and mega-wineries, Forgotten Roots works to revive this heritage. We hope you find, as we have, that fruit wine doesn't need to taste like punch, but can actually be a complex and refined beverage that pairs well with a variety of meals and, most especially, with good company. Our target audience is going to be people interested in the holistic lifestyle and "grassroots" American, ingenuity. These will be the same people who shop at local farmer's markets or places like Whole Foods. In a market that is over-saturated with AMAZING Colorado beer, we hope to bring something different to the table for the sophisticated hipster who's seen it all and is searching for a new flavor experience.
Other color requirements
Green, Brown, White (But really open to anything)
We definitely want some kind of plant or root system incorporated into our logo. Since we are a non-grape winery, we're thinking something involving an apple tree, but we're honestly totally open to ideas. We have uploaded a rough sketch we've received, but we're wanting to check out some other creative options. Think outside the box and we're likely to choose you! Bonus points for originality. We don't want to see repeats of the stuff we've uploaded! Remember, fruit wine can come from any fruit other than grape: apples, melon, peaches, strawberry, cherry, etc. Think outside the box! Thanks guys!
