Transocean
The logo is to uniquely represent the Discoverer India. This vessel is one of 5 that have been built by Transocean. Transocean is an international offshore drilling contractor who operates offshore drilling rigs world wide. Transocean has the largest fleet of deep water drill ships of any offshore drilling contractor. The Discoverer India will be working offshore India
The target audience is our operating crews, the managment of the rig, and our clients, who are major oil companies that operate worldwide in the exploration for oil & gas worldwide. The logo should make the Discoverer India stand out as a unique deepweater drill ship capable of exploring for oil and gas in water depths up to 10,000 feet. In industry logo it is a 6th generation Enhanced Enterprise class drillship that utilizes the comapnys patented dual activity drilling technology
Below are two links. One to the company home page & the second to a sister ship that is working in the US Gulf of Mexico(http://deepwater.com/fw/main/Home-1.html)

The log will be used on clothing such as shirts & ball caps, as a sticker to put an hard hats, for patches that are sewn onto clothing, & used some on stationary and forms..
Attached is a logo for another rig, the Deepwater Frontier (DWF). Also attached is the logo design for the DDKG1. I would like something like the DWF logo with the background being an outline of the Indian subcontinent. The only text needed is the vessel name - Discoverer India. I do not want it to be in the same format as the DWF with the rig name wrapped as part of the logo. The name can be above or below the logo. Linit to 3 colors.
Attached is a sketch of another idea. The art work, which is less than clear, is the ship as an out line with a tiger around the derrick. The tiger is the symbol of India. This is also the year of the Tiger in Asia based on the lunar calendar so two symbolic meanings.
The proposed color scheme is for the ship hull - gray, the background - blue, lettering in Red, and the tiger to be orange & black. Do not include Transocean on the bottom of the logo.. Attached are some photos of two of the sister ships. The Discover India will be the same.
