Schoop
I'm a full-time writer and parent launching an online news and community site with colleagues - Schoop (pronounced "scoop") to keep parents in the loop on education. Our logo will be the foundation of the brand's image, of course. Seeking a design that is memorable and fun. Our site name is a combination of "school" and "scoop" as "here's the scoop". We'll keep parents abreast of local, national and international education news as well as offer feature stories, columns and blogs. The culture of the site will be easy-going, but serious about keeping parents informed.
Our target audience are parents of school-aged children - pre-school thru college. They are people hungry for information about how to provide their kids the best education possible, how to save money on education products and services, how to interact with their local public and private schools, and how to handle learning-related issues their children experience.
I am not picky about the precise color, though something bold is preferred. I'd entertain a single-color logo or two-color logo. A bold, perhaps customized font would be nice. I encourage designers to use imagination with use of imagery related to education or the brand name Schoop (i.e., scoop of information). Imagery may be a part of the text - happy to consider any creative designs (i.e., play with look of the "o's" in Schoop).
Design must carry easily to Web, print, black/white or grayscale use.
Thanks!
