The Water Tracker is a tool with a diagnostic guide to help countries self-assess and enhance water resilience in their national climate planning. The Water Tracker will provision and guide water resilience thinking within national climate plans so that they can be monitored, enhanced, implemented, and refined over time. The goal is to provide countries with a practical and actionable tool for strengthening national climate plans and turning climate commitments into effective, bankable investments that meet national and global climate targets. The target audience is national climate planners and policy makers. The Water Tracker will also be useful for government ministries, civil society, investment banks, aid agencies, and other groups with a stake in evaluating the credibility and efficacy of national climate instruments.
The main message is that water flows through all parts of society and its responsible management is critical to adapting to climate change. The Water Tracker will look at water-climate connections across sectors of society including: 1. Energy 2. Industry 3. Agriculture/livestock/aquaculture 4. Waste 5. Transport 6. Forestry and land use 7. Human settlements 8. Ecosystems The Water Tracker is associated with international climate events such the UN’s annual climate conference (COP26) and international organizations like the UNFCCC, so I have also added some of their branding materials to help with style. Finally, the file titled “AGWA logo” represents the organization leading the Water Tracker’s development. Although the Water Tracker logo should not directly reference AGWA, it may be helpful for style design.
