dojoKaizen
dojoKaizen is about getting everything you want from your life and work with less effort by thinking in new ways. Think "the four hour work week" and lifestyle design as the context for blogs, e-courses and products as well as seminars and community.
Terminology:
The term "Dojo" means training hall and a translation for "Kaizen" (Japanese for "improvement" or "change for the better") refers to a philosophy or practices that focus upon continuous improvement.
Audience:
Solopreneurs and freelancers, also the social media hip crowd. The typical target audience member will be (or want to be) self employeed, making 6 figures and mixing their work time with the things they find pleasurable in life whether that is spending time with family, travel or racing vintage sports cars.
They aspire to a life of comfort, leisure and economic freedom WITHOUT killing themselves 90 hours a week or waiting till they retire to have fun.
Other considerations:
Also, there are other "dojo" sites coming (the Production Dojo for indie film, the Developer Dojo for software etc) so while the other logos are outside the scope of this award, the winning design should allow for the creation of an easily identified "family" of designs.
Tone:
I want to keep an Eastern influence, but with a modern feel.
Example content:
The process of getting this logo done! We will be blogging about the whole thing in the near future as we go. This will also give the winning designer exposure with this target audience.
