Loved his interpretation and intuition of what I was looking for. He went out of his way to get the details right - great designer!
How Shakti Sunfire started their logo design journey
We're a collective of product designers who throw down in the hula hooping (hoop dance) industry - yup, that's right - hula hoops. Our most popular, internationally coveted item is the firehoop, so we're creating an ecommerce site with Shopify.com to encourage ease-of-use and up the 'sexy' in our brand.
Tell us a bit about who you are and the people you reach
Our target audience are firespinners, artists, and dancers of all ages - but here's the catch: we're over the 'hey this a hobby' mentality of most fire toy retailers out there and we're going pro. Our goal is to appeal to the masses and set the standard in tasteful, professional design on our new site. We want to be the Versace of fire toy retailers. Get it?
I've attached images to work off of and am sold on the icon, so no point wandering astray from it....
In urgent need of a logo for a firehoop ecommerce site, more design work to come...
Attached is the image I'd like the logo/icon to be - exactly as is (crop circle). Because these are fire tools I thought having a little bit of a 'glow' effect would go over well. To that end I've attached some text I found that has depth and glow without falling into kitsch (luna soleil). I was imagining the icon to have the back-lit effect and the font treatment just being simple (perhaps charcoal) lines. The icon will also have to look good without color/effect. I'm open to suggestions - the main 'feel' for the brand is **high-end retail** so I want to err on the side of less is more... Super clean...
For colors, I'm imagining a flame blue with a touch of white/yellow (think a really hot blue flame - also attached an image here for color purposes ONLY - see Thomás). We want to stay away from cliche 'fire' colors - reds, oranges etc. The website background will either be white or charcoal and one of these last images (photography) will be used on the homepage so you get the gist.
*Clean lines - think Apple
*Use of both the spiral icon (crop circle) and a type treatment
*Colors - flame blue, white, touch of yellow and charcoal
