I’m always open to ideas on the type of logo that’s best for my brand. If you have a drawing you think will amaze me, I am happy to be convinced by something different and nifty. However, I have a hodgepodge of eclectic musings of things, I think might work and some non-starters. It's a wordy mess and I'm not an artist, but here are my thoughts and hopes. The logo needs to convey the idea of a game store, but not with symbology from Monopoly, Cribbage, or Chess. This is a place that sells items like Gloomhaven, Magic: the Gathering, and Call of Cthulhu and not CandyLand. Integrating more contemporary gaming symbols like meeples, polyhedral dice, tentacles or dragons fit the desired theme. That’s not an exclusive list, but a way to convey the gist of what I’m thinking. Given the store's name, I'm hoping for something with a more old-timey, Victorian vibe. (hence the majority of the sample images) With maybe more of an mysterious, occult Call of Cthulhu’s tentacles from the deep feel than steampunk airships or swords and sorcery, but if you can work miracles and blend all of geekdom's milieu into transformative art... sure, that would work too. Just not Halloween, dripping blood, satanic scary. Yet, somehow still a game store… (easy, right? :-) ) A horizontal aspect ratio will work better than vertical portrait shapes for my signage needs. Depending on the art, I will likely contact later for additional variations for other branding needs. Legibility is key, but I’m also a big fan of negative space art. Not vital, but working that in is always a plus. In the end, I'm looking for something that when people see on our sign, they must shop at our amazing emporium of wonder and that's so interesting they feel compelled to wear it on a t-shirt!
