SMT - Seismic Micro Technology
I running Marketing for SMT. We have been around since 1984 and sell high end software that geoscientists use to visualize the subsurface and search for oil and gas.
Our existing logo looks out of date and we would like a new one that communicates our leading edge science and global presence. We are in 97 countries and have 2700 customers.
Petroleum geophysicists, geologists, and engineers. They work at oil and gas companies like Exxon, Saudi Aramco, or Chesapeake.
Our audience loves subsurface imagery. This includes seismic waves contour lines, and rock formations. Check our website to see what these images look like.
The logo needs be in our existing colors - red and white. However, it can be red gradients. Our existing logo can be seen at http://www.seismicmicro.com
The logo needs to prominently say SMT. It should NOT say our full name as we are moving to just the initials.
Ideally, the logo should also mention our product name - KINGDOM (always, in all caps).
The logo should be easy to display on trade show signs, web, and marketing collateral.
The logo should look very dynamic. I like the logos shown at this URL - especially the conceptual ones. http://www.logoblog.org/wordpress/l…edictions/
I have uploaded logos of competitors and logos I liked from the logoblog. Paradigm, Seisware, and iHS are the competitor logos. I really like iHS look - simple, modern, and incorporates company name into the logo. I do not like Seisware. Paradigm is ok, but would be nice to incorporate the name into the logo instead of setting next to it.
In our case, we may need to have SMT in the logo picture, and KINGDOM written next to it.
One idea: Write the "S" using seismic waves. The 'M" can look like the subsurface block like the "M" here:http://www.seismicmicro.com/pdf/smt_kgeomodeling.pdf
The "T" - make it look high tech.
Don't know if that will look clean, just a thought.
