American Mead makes mead - which is like wine but made from honey instead of grapes. It is bare bones fermentation using seasonal ingredients. Most meads are sweet, but these are dry and sparkling - resulting in a beverage somewhere between champagne and a beer. American Mead invokes "geoessence" - a similar concept as the French "terroir" - by using what plants/herbs/fruits/etc. are in season and by using only the ambient/inherent yeasts in the honey and ingredients - as reflected in its tagline, "the buzz of the country" - which also reflects that its made in a rural area. The target audience is similar to that of craft beer. I envision the logo playing heavy into Americana - as if it could be on a gas station sign in the early 70s.

The attached images are logos were started by a designer friend. I'm not in love with either, but they could have potential. I'm really looking for something simplistic and bold. I like the idea of incorporating a star. I like the rounded honeycomb cell. I don't need either. I just want something that implies honey and potentially patriotism and such.
