We have been open for 7 years under a different name. Over that time we have grown from a sleepy little mom-and-pop corner store to become one of the highest-grossing stores in our area. Because of this we are expanding soon, and tripling our floor space. We plan to relaunch as a larger discount retailer with a new name and hope to draw customers from a much wider area.
Our customers are primarily young professionals in their 20's, 30's and 40's. Their status ranges anywhere from single college grads to couples with young children. Our goal is to create a retail environment that is hip, fun, and casual. Our store is the kind of place where people love to take their time and look around, and are not intimidated by the huge selection.
The name of our store is meant to convey a couple of things. First, that we have a large "galaxy-sized" selection of products; and secondly, that we are a fun place to shop compared to some of the boring, stodgy stores in our area. More of a destination store, rather than just your local shop.
Here are a few notes about what we are looking for:
1. Typeface. We need something futuristic, but clear and legible. One font we particularly like is a ttf font called Anna. Id love to see this typeface used for the word "galaxy", and something different for the rest... but we arent married to it and are happy to consider any alternatives. I have attached this font to the brief.
2. It will be tempting to incorporate "spacey" things in the logo such as rings, spiral arms, neutrons, stars, planets, etc. We arent opposed to graphics like this, but we dont want stock images or clip art used.
3. Keep in mind that this logo will be used on exterior signage, web sites, advertising, apparel, etc. The logo should be streamlined and graphics should be relatively evenly proportioned with text.
4. We also need to include our tagline "Fine Wines Ales & Spirits" or "Fine Wines + Ales + Spirits" underneath the store name.
We'll need high-res rgb/grayscale as well as jpeg. Thanks, and good luck!
