How Chris.arnold started their logo design journey
Percollate is a startup. We're building a new social media dashboard that aims to compete with TweetDeck, Seesmic, Hootsuite, CoTweet etc. It mainly differentiates itself by providing a more intuitive UI that enables users to cope with massive amounts of data and easily find the information that's relevant to them. The brand name came about from a) the idea of percolating or distilling large amounts of data into a smaller, more concentrated, valuable stream of data and b) to collate (spelled with 2 Ls).
Tell us a bit about who you are and the people you reach
Our initial target audience is twitter users that follow more than 100 people and are starting to feel overwhelmed by the amount of data they are exposed to. They don't want to reduce the number of people they follow, they just want to filter out all the rubbish!
During 2011 we will be expanding to include Facebook, LinkedIn and a number of other networks - i.e. Percollate will not just be focused on Twitter.
I am looking for an original logo that must work well as a twitter avatar - whether this is the whole logo or a part of it that can be detached. It must also be easily portable for use on business cards.
As a twitter application Percollate's logo will be viewed next to hundreds of others so must stand out. The logo should have a Web 2.0 'feel' to it, be recognisable and memorable.
The winning designer will also get visible credit and link on our website. Use your imagination!
