As the owner of a public relations firm that recently added corporate and personal photography services, I posed a real challenge to designers in seeking out a new logo that appealed to professional clients and families alike. Dharma was an early contender in my contest by demonstrating a clear understanding of my needs and the look I wanted to achieve. La Palabra Para Hoy
For 12 years a tiny English-speaking church, on the Costa Blanca (Mediterranean) coast of Spain, has published, distributed - and underwritten the losses - of a quarterly book, 64 pages size DIN A5, containing ±92 daily readings. We originally printed copies ourselves in 2 colours, but now print by web-offset with a fabulous printer near Madrid, in 4 colours. The project controller is Clive Read, 24 years experience with QuarkXpress and AppleMAC computers, during which he has learned nothing of design and balance. We need a 'logo' as well as a 'house style' for using the logo and name on the booklet, as well as on letterheads and other items. Tell us a bit about who you are and the people you reach
Those who attend churches, ought to get their inspiration (food and vitamins) from the church leaders, but increasingly it is being left to publications like "La Palabra Para Hoy". The text is appropriate for people who face difficulties in life (don't we all) and do not find an answer in church, because they do not go there. Most copies are read by dissilusioned Roman Catholics (because it is a Spanish language text) but we are neither for - or against - any demonination.
We are looking for a logo, but equally for creation of a 'house style' using the logo and name style on letterheads, as well as the quarterly booklet. We would welcome an ongoing relationship to use, protect and develop the logo in coming years, rather than as a 'one-off' project now. Those interested in submitting ideas, can questions (email@example.com) - and receive replies in confidence - knowing that they are better at asking questions than I am at writing a brief. I have 'muddled through' for 12 years but feel the project deserves better than I can give. We don't have a website (when EVERYONE else does) but that is another consideration. I am open to all manner of suggestion, and like to think that being regarded as a pensioner by virtue of age, does not disqualify me from recognising talent. Clive
