Mel needed a new logo design and created a contest on 99designs.
A winner was selected from 40 designs submitted by 15 freelance designers.
A logo for a 50’s rock and roll/rockabilly community website that can also be used on T-shirts to be supplied in vector format.
VicRock.com.au
This is for a long established community website for people interested in 50's rock and roll, rockabilly, country rock and swing music and dancing.
It needs to contain the words "VicRock.com.au" and symbolise the music of that era.
Can have a silhouette/s or line drawing of dancers and musicians but not a prerequisite.
Although the website has a primarily blue theme I am flexible with the colours as long as the logo fits the site which can be seen here: http://vicrock.com.au
Update - 17th May
It is hard for designers to create a ‘concept’ when we, the contest holders, haven’t provided much direction.
To date the entries have been very good and we are impressed with the standard of the work. Unfortunately none of these have really captured the feel of our website and the people that use it.
We are looking for a logo that encompasses all facets of VicRock.com.au but at the same time is not too ‘busy’.
We provide a forum and information for Rock N Roll/Rockabilly music and dancers.
Our audience is mainly Rock and Roll dance enthusiasts as well as musicians, venue operators/dance promoters, dance teachers and hot rod/custom car enthusiasts
If you are putting dancers in your graphics then they need to look like Rock n Roll Dancers not ballroom dancers or modern dancers. A musical instrument such as a guitar is welcome as is a depiction of a classic car (with fins).
