Logo/crest in need of an update

Easy job for all you creative designers! We have a logo which needs updating. The basic content of the logo/crest must stay the same but giving a fresh modern look.

Desired Color Scheme: Same as current Desired Style: modern, professional Accepted File Formats: Vector Formats (.eps, .pdf or .ai) The current logo can be found at: http://img505.imageshack.us/img505/6519/crestlogoinneedofupdateyq6.jpg Or If you cannot get from the above link I can email to you! The basic content of the logo must be included... ie. must have the crown at top, red band with 3 circles on the left half and 2 blue bands on the right but can you make it look more modern and profesional! The white shield can have some sort of effect/shading so it isn't flat and empty. It is just the logo/crest.. there is no text or company name needed. The logo can be more 3D but should stay face on rather than at an angle. shading and effects can be added so it doesn't look flat and lifeless like it currently does! Vector formats are prefered so it can be resized but if you have an idea or effect to make it look great that requires creating in a non vector format you can try.
