Image is everything with this business. The traditional problem with this type of business is not looking professional enough for people to trust with their wedding or special event. I want to look like a professional company. I want it simple and clean and to the point.

About us: We offer white dove releases for weddings, funerals & special events like Grand Openings, sporting events, music videos, parties and the such. We also do a lot of donated releases for 9/11 memorials, July 4th parades, funerals for veterans, etc...

Website: http://www.BayAreaDoves.com. We will be redesigning our site soon, but wanted to get a grasp on a new, updated logo first.

Target Audience: Our Target audience is primarily women (brides-to-be) for our wedding releases, but the general audience is adults of all shapes and sizes for other types of events. I would like the design to be classy and elegant, but not feminine.

General Specs: Our current logo is clean and to the point, but lacking that something extra. The design must be generic enough to advertise weddings, funerals and all kinds of events at the same time, so it should not lean towards a specific event. I want a recognizable dove or doves in the design. The font must be clear and legible, but can have some flare. Nothing too cartoon-ish, please.

I like the idea of white text which I could put on a black background for our website. But will also use it with black text on white at time. So it must be universal.

I would like it with a horizontal layout. I'd like to see the logo on both black and white backgrounds, and should also work in grayscale. This will be used for our website, stationary, t-shirt & advertising, so any mocks up of the logo in use would be a plus.

Important to note: Although our business is around the San Francisco Bay Area, please don't use this towards the design. I don't want any Golden Gate Bridge or Trolley images...ha! Please focus on the Doves and Style. We plan on expanding outside this area, so I don't want to focus on the area.

I have seen some amazing talent here at sitepoint, which is why I'm here. I'm excited to see what people come up with.

One contest that caught my eye was: http://www.sitepoint.com/marketplace/contest/683?. I like the white on black contrast, which gave it a modern and classy feel. This would be a good direction to go in.
