Training Works is an established business with an existing logo (see http://www.trainingworks.com.au). We are looking to refresh our image as we feel it is a bit tired and outdated.
Training Works specializes in providing high quality business writing skills workshops. Much of what we teach involves encouraging people to write things that are simple, clear and to the point. As such we are looking for a unique typography based logo that is clean, crisp and refreshing – something that will look great printed black and white on paper and also really stand out on the web.
It would be great to get back logos similar to http://www.studioonfire.com/design-…ty-system/ or http://www.beastpieces.com/wordpres…_cards.jpg which incorporates a beautiful typeface as well as a visual device like a stylized pen or iconography of a typed page. Ideally we would like something that works in one colour, but if you think colour will really make your design "pop" then please do add it sparingly (no gradients please - we are considering having our cards printed letterpress).
Training Works conducts workshops primarily for government departments and large private businesses. Our audiences therefore includes government employees all the way from participants in the workshops all the way up to Government Ministers.
We run workshops primarily to do with writing clearly, concisely but with impact. Our logo should reflect these activities in a stylized form if possible.
The majority of our logo impressions will be on black and white training manuals so our logo should be single colour and rely heavily on elegant, bold typography and perhaps a single design element (eg. Squarespace or Darling fireball links shown below)
Other designs we like include:
We will need an Illustrator vector file of the final logo with outlined fonts as well as a listing of the fonts used.
After a winning logo is chosen we may begin a new project to create a Word report template ( h1-h6, typography selection, table styling etc) and email signature. Obviously if we find a designer that “gets us” we’d love to award this project to them as well.
