xybersolutions needed a new logo design and created a contest on 99designs.
A winner was selected from 106 designs submitted by 34 freelance designers.
Looking for a logo upgrade thats clean, looks great, has personality, isn't corporate looking nor silly, but speaks "I want to build your web site the right way."
XyberSolutions
The company's name is XyberSolutions (pronounced ˈsībər səˈloō sh ən s | cyber-solutions) and though it says "cyber" in the name the company is more about building relationships and cool web sites and solutions.
The current logo can be seen at http://xybersolutions.com along with some general information about the company.
I would like to have a logo that uses a nice type along with a great graphic where the graphic can stand on it's own such as a favicon in a browser address bar, twitter avatar, or as a background on a business card, a brochure, or web page.
The overall look of the logo should allow the "Solutions" part of the name to be swapped out to other sub-company names (e.g., XyberHosting, XyberNews, XyberDesign, XyberMedia, XyberWhatever, etc.). Perhaps a secondary color (but not necessary) could be used so that the "Solutions" (or other sub-name) part stands out since the overall goal is to provide web development and strategy solutions.
The new logo should also work nicely with and without the slogan "advance your online existence TM".
Originally the current graphic was designed many years ago to illustrate/support the slogan, in the previous sentence, suggesting the phrases "moving forward," "movement," "the next step," "action," etc. If you look at the current graphic it's a "play button" but isn't necessary to retain in the new design.
The current site is being redesigned and the logo will live on a background that will have the color HEX: #170f05 or RGB: 23,15,5 which will sit atop of another content area that has the color HEX #41382b RGB: 65,56,43 (sample area at http://xybersolutions.com/logos/new…ample.png). Some other colors that are used throughout the site include: HEX #5d5750 or RGB 93,87,80 | HEX #f2deae or RGB 242,222,174 with a bit of green HEX #41832f or RGB 65,131,47 and HEX #27521b or RGB 39,82,27 with a smidgen of HEX #e5b84e or RGB 229,184,78.
Colors I like http://www.colourlovers.com/palette…-Lime_Peel but I'm open to other colors, however I'm very partial to HEX: #FBBD1C RGB: 251,189,28 - uno card yellow or HEX: #FFEA00 RGB: 255,234,0 - Vibratto Yellow; yellow-orange colors.
Other things I like: eye-candy like the hidden arrow in FedEx's logo, robots, rockets, coffee, camping, the outdoors, and earth-tones.
This guy has some great designs: http://logopond.com/members/profile…case/11791 and this is nice: http://logopond.com/gallery/detail/38322
- MUST fit in a area that is 400 px wide (max) and 90 px high (max) on the web site but not limited to this size for other mediums. - A vector format like that produced by Adobe Photoshop or Adobe Illustrator - but looks good as a gif or png. - Clean - Fun - Warm - Earthy/Organic but not too much, just a hint -- there's people behind our business that care about your business - "X" and "S" capitalized or slightly larger then the rest if the rest is capitalized (i.e., small-caps) - Use of an icon or image to compliment the name or slogan - Looks good in Black and White as well as in Color - Should work on light and dark backgrounds
- A Super Techie Look -- see comment on name above - A Computer or Computer Parts -- see previous bullet - A Corporate Look - Business Blues (i.e., dark colors) - Logos like this (FAIL!): http://xybersolutions.com/logos/xyb…-comp1.png - A Shadow
