Dewey Digital (http://www.deweysquare.com/dewey-digital/)
Dewey Digital is the Digital Media Practice within the Dewey Square Group and is founded on the belief that those who intelligently adopt new media for their communications strategies have a substantial advantage over those who do not. Headed by industry pioneers, Dewey Digital combines commercial sector technology experience with traditional public sector communications expertise.
About Dewey Square Group (www.deweysquare.com):
Specializing in strategic and marketing communications, the Dewey Square Group (DSG) has distinguished itself as one of the country’s leading public affairs firms. Fortune magazine has described the Firm’s approach as “cutting edge” and The Washington DC-based newspaper Roll Call has called DSG "the powerhouse public affairs firm.”
DSG is owned by WPP Group, has offices in nine cities throughout the US and affiliates in every state. The Firm has designed and executed successful solutions for Fortune 500 corporations, leading trade associations and major non-profit associations such as AARP, AT&T, Microsoft, Barnes & Noble, Bloom Energy, Coca-Cola Co., General Motors, and the US Chamber of Commerce, among others.
I need a new logo for the Dewey Digital brand. I want something that is clean and modern. I've attached a couple of examples of styles/looks/feels that I like.
Companies. Executives. Non Profits. Marketing Managers. Communications Departments and New Media Directors within companies, campaigns, and various organizations. We work with Fortune 500's, major trade associations, government agencies and NGO's. We help people who have a message worth sharing reach their customers through the use of social media, digital tools and various technology platforms. My target audience varies, but primarily it is a decision maker at a company faced with a variety of vendors who want to help that company get their messaging out on the Internet, mobile and around the world. We help people who have a story, product and initiative worth sharing - we help them get their message out, gain impact, reach and traction. My target audience is decision makers within organizations who know that their consumers are communicating differently than they were 2 years ago. My target audience is executives that are excited and thrilled for the opportunity to reach these people (their consumers, audience, advocates, constituents) through the proper use and creative implementation of technology. They want to do things differently. They are willing to take messaging to mobile phones, to social media. They are not only willing, they are thirsty for the chance to roll out a campaign in a cutting edge way.
The logo should be:
Simple, but cutting edge
Sophisticated but edgy
Think about brands like The W:
The W is hip, chic, forward thinking and sort of challenges the norm and pushes the envelope in terms of design. It is modern. But, it takes signature pieces/ideas/concepts and makes them modern. EG: taking a chandelier (old) but giving it pink lightbulbs (new, different, edgy). They take a bit of risk in their design, but it is never tacky or cheap looking. It is also, fundamentally, a Starwood Hotel. A stable brand that evokes trust, loyalty and the all-American family traveler. I would like a design that marries a sense of trust and reliability with a cutting edge and forward thinking, hip, clean and modern mentality.
Think about Peanut Butter and Jelly Sandwiches:
They are salty and sweet. They "pop" because they have the perfect combination of salty and sweet. I would like to embody this experience in my brand's logo. We are reliable, we are solid and we are not so flashy that we will waste your money. In fact, we will save you money. Our strategies are brilliant, they are cutting edge and forward thinking. They create transmedia experiences for our clients. I want our logo to embody that and to reflect that.
I have attached our current logo (which feels dated).
